Privacy Policy of Messages SMS & MMS

This Application DOES NOT collect and store Personal Identifiable Information ('PII') from its Users. Our app uses Google Admob as ads provider. Google Admob wants to show ads that are relevant to you.

The only situation we may get access to your PII is when you personally decide to email us your feedback or to provide us with a bug report. The PII we may get from you in that situation are strictly limited to your name, email address and your survey response only. In above situation, we guarantee that your PII will only be used for contacting you and improving our services. We will never use such information (e.g. your name and email address) for any other purposes, such as to further market our products, or to disclose your personal information to a third party for commercial gains. It should be noted that whether or not to send us your feedback or bug report is a completely voluntary initiative upon your own decision.

Account
We do not require to create an account to use our Services. We may use your encrypted phone number as a way to privately collect meta information required by our Rich Communication Services in Messages, such as the time and date of when your messages are received and read, or when someone is writing to you. We do not store the content of your communications on our servers.

Contact Information
We don’t collect any contact information by default.

Messaging Services
This Application require some android device permission:
- Permission ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Check the device's network status and type (e.g., Wi-Fi, mobile data) for features like online/offline behavior or network-specific optimizations.
- Permission CALL_PHONE: Allow the app to initiate a phone call directly without requiring the user to dial manually.
- Permission FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Required for running foreground services, typically used for tasks like ongoing backups, media playback, or showing notifications during active services on Android 9+.
- Permission INTERNET: Enable the app to access the internet for sending/receiving data, such as API requests, file uploads/downloads, or streaming.
- Permission POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Post notifications to the user. Explicitly required for Android 13+ to alert users with notifications.
- Permission READ_CONTACTS: Access the user’s contacts stored on the device for purposes like contact synchronization, displaying contact information, or sharing.
- Permission READ_SMS: Read SMS messages stored on the device, often used for backup, or SMS management.
- Permission READ_PHONE_STATE: Access information about the device state, such as phone number, current call status, and network details. Useful for functionalities like caller ID or ensuring compatibility with network services.
- Permission RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Start specific app functionality or services after the device completes its boot process, like alarms or scheduled jobs.
- Permission RECEIVE_MMS: Allow the app to be notified and handle incoming MMS messages, often used for multimedia message management or backup services.
- Permission RECEIVE_SMS: Enable the app to listen for and act upon incoming SMS messages, typically for SMS-based features or auto-replies.
- Permission SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Schedule precise alarms or tasks, necessary for apps that rely on exact timing, like reminders or critical notifications.
- Permission SEND_SMS: Send SMS messages from the app, often for messaging services, automated notifications, or alerts.
- Permission VIBRATE: Control device vibration for features like notifications, alerts, or haptic feedback.
- Permission WAKE_LOCK: Prevent the device from entering sleep mode to keep it active during critical operations, such as downloading files or ongoing tasks.
- Permission WRITE_SMS: Allow the app to edit SMS messages stored on the device, typically for backup/restore purposes.
- Permission WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Write files to external storage, commonly used for saving documents, media files, or backups. The android:maxSdkVersion="40" restricts its use to devices below Android 11 due to the shift to Scoped Storage.
We are not storing any of your personal data, images, photos, audios or videos in any of our servers, and we don’t sell your data to anyone. Whatever data is collected is for the sole purpose of providing our Services to you. Upon acceptance of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, if your phone number can be read from your SIM card, we privately send your phone number via an SSL encrypted connection to our server.

Advertisement
Messages contains ads in the form of clickable links. Advertisement providers for those ads may collect data resulting from displays and clicks on their ads. Clicking on ads may also result in the collection of tracking and anti-fraud data, including your Android Advertising ID, IP address, phone model, language, Android version, cookies, pixels, anonymized identifiers, clicks, timestamps or ad topics. Our advertisement providers as of today is just Google AdMob. Users who don’t provide their consent when presented with the present terms will see arbitrary ads in the app since our advertisement providers will be informed that they are not allowed to collect user data to display personalized ads. Users willing to learn more about targeted and behavioural advertising or willing to opt-out of this type of advertising can visit the websites of the Digital Advertising Alliance website and the Networking Advertising Initiative.

Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a change to this Policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via an email to the email address associated with your account or through the Services. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
